Buckshot Roulette is a dark tabletop horror game that takes the infamous Russian Roulette concept to a chilling new level by replacing the revolver with a 12-gauge shotgun. Developed by indie creator Mike Klubnika, this game blends psychological tension, strategy, and high-stakes gambling in an immersive digital experience.
Set atop an underground nightclub, players face off in unscripted rounds controlled by a menacing AI dealer. With its minimalist design and unpredictable outcomes, Buckshot Roulette offers a raw and thrilling exploration of desperation and survival.
Each playthrough lasts approximately 15-20 minutes, delivering high replay value with its strategic depth and diegetic gameplay elements.
To play Buckshot Roulette, at least three participants are required: one player takes on the role of the dealer, responsible for managing the shotgun, while the others act as gamblers who risk their lives in a high-stakes battle of chance and strategy.
The game begins with the dealer loading the shotgun, which serves as the central element of the game, and two gamblers take their places at the table. A coin toss, vote, or similar process determines which gambler becomes the wagerer. The wagerer bets between 1 to 3 drops on their own survival, and the dealer then aims the loaded shotgun at the non-wagering player.
The game’s outcomes depend on whether the shotgun misfires. If it misfires, the non-wagerer is eliminated, resetting the wager range to 1-3 drops for the next round. If the non-wagerer survives, roles shift, with the non-wagerer becoming the new wagerer, and the cycle continues.
The new wagerer must bet at least as much as the previous round’s wager, adding escalating tension to each turn. The game ends when only one player remains standing, having successfully outwitted the other participants in this harrowing game of survival.
